The OTHER truth is that if you "R"efuse plastic at your local grocery store, you're opting instead to support mass-produced textile products, sourced out of Asian sweat shops. The law of unintended consequences says you can't have a "consequence-free" outcome. The best approach is to look at all of the known inputs and outputs, and make the maximal decision based on the desired outcome. Plastic is not evil.
